Phuture: L*o*J you’ve been on our bucket list of artists to release with for forever!! Let’s start things off with what you had for breakfast!

L*o*J:
Loris: i had a oatmeal with an apple.
Josh: i ate nothing and rolled one up

Phuture: What went into ‘Height’? Can you take us through some of your inspirations or the story behind it?

L*o*J:
Loris: We basically had used up all of our bangers we had laying around ready for collabs or releases on labels, and then Phuture Collective hit us up, so I knew I had to get back to the lab and cook up something new that will be fire. And with that drive and motivation we created “Height

Phuture: What got you into production? What keeps you going?

L*o*J:

Josh: Loris came by one day with a music production program his stepfather gave him and we just started to fuck around. We had such a blast doing it and when we started to put our stuff out and saw positive reactions and all the love that it created, we knew this was for us and so we kept it going and it only went uphill from there. Funny thing is, we’re writing this on the exact same iMac we started producing on, 8 years ago.

Today, we produce everyday, we just love connecting and seeing how we’re all succeeding and making it happen.

What keeps us going is getting up, rollin up and writing music everyday. That feeling when you create something completely unique and random and not yet heard. The way music changes us while discovering other amazing artists, forces us to continue this journey.

Phuture: Any words of advice for producers thinking of giving up and calling it quits?

L*o*J :  In our surroundings we see a bunch of talent that isn’t being expressed fully.. It’s all about making money and buying that nice car everyone wants. During this stress, dreams get lost and producers like us get criticized for not going to full time jobs and working with the “system”. Even though were working 24/7. Don’t get influenced by people that don’t have the possibilities to do what they love to do. If you’re able to find a way to express your art in any way, DO it and Never give up.

Phuture:  What has been some of your most notable events or come ups so far in 2018? What can we expect in 2019?

L*o*J:  The EP was a big success, also we had a release with one of our biggest inspirations in the game : Dabow.

We didn’t have any gigs due to the lack of parties in our experimental trap genre here in switzerland.

Coming in 2019 we’re planning on starting merchandise, hats, t’s etc. And having some gigs during our stay in LA.

Phuture: If your music was a 3 course meal – take us through each of the courses.

L*o*J:

1 Course:

We prepare the drumz, and start creating little glitch fx ect.

2 course.

We get most of our sounds we want laid out on the mixer and keep an eye on any peaking ect.

We place our sounds and fx in the spots we want them to be over a basic drum loop, then we start to expand..

3 course

We start doing funny things like recording loris beatboxing while running through manipulator (infected mushroom) later pressed through gatekeeper to stay in line.

We love using things like ringshifter ( logic plug) remodeling samples and space plug ins like FF-R

Our everyday tools are Serum, Massive, Gravity, Sculpture and exs24.

L*o*J:  To our fellow producers, keep up the amazing work! It’s been such a great time so far! We can’t wait to see you all soon.

Much love L*o*J
