Intersecting between 92elm and Glimmer

We’re here Now – and introducing you to 92elm, who caught us off guard with his submission, ‘Glimmer‘, as part of issue seven | SUNSET. When we received this track (months ago) it resonated with us emotionally and psychedelically so we’re excited to let you hear as well!

92elm has been releasing more content personally on his profile and on other labels like our good friends over at Jadu Dala. Expect so much more from 92elm in 2017 – but we don’t have to tell you! Go ahead and read our exclusive interview with him below… Right as you listen to ‘Glimmer‘ :).

Interview curated by Soba of the phuture collective staff.

Phuture: Thanks for being here on Issue Seven | SUNSET with us, 92elm! Your song, Glimmer, is emotionally captivating and thoroughly well done. How much of your own emotion went into the creation of that tune?

92elm: Thanks man! It was definitely an emotional process writing that track. I was trying to channel lots of different feelings at once, so I think it feels a bit melancholy but smooth at the same time.

Phuture: Do you have a current favorite musician/number of musicians? Who? Why?

92elm: There are so many talented musicians out there so it’s hard to pick just a few…I would say right now my favorite producer is Ekali. His music is amazing, plus he seems like such a solid human being.

Phuture: What is your favorite color? Why? Do you think it embodies your music in any way?

92elm: Probably split between black and blue. It’s hard to explain why they’re my favorite colors, I guess they’re just very functional and work in a lot of situations.

Phuture: What made the name “Glimmer” feel right for the track? Any particular reason you decided to go with that title?

92elm: I was going through a strange transitional period at the time, and writing music was really providing me with my main source of positivity. “Glimmer” felt right because the song evoked a sense of joy in me, when other things in my life weren’t necessarily doing that.

Phuture: What has been your favorite kind of music to either create or listen to recently?

92elm: Hmm, I’m all over the place but I love making anything that incorporates hip-hop and electronic production. I also love listening to jazz, soul and R&B. Really feeling Kehlani and Anderson .Paak right now.

Phuture: Do you plan on taking on the world musically? We’re sure that the planet could use more 92elm! Where do you plan on being 5 years from now?

92elm: Definitely! I would love to travel and play music for a living. It’s hard to say where I’ll be 5 years from now, ideally I would like to be touring consistently, but I’m taking everything one step at a time.

Phuture: What is your favorite beverage? Alcoholic if you’re over 21, non-alcoholic if you’re under.

92elm: Alcoholic: Bourbon whiskey. Non-alcoholic: Coffee.

Phuture: What is your favorite foreign food?

92elm: Probably either Sushi or Pad Thai.

Phuture: Thank you for being a huge part of Issue Seven, and a crucial part to Issue Seven | SUNSET, 92elm! We look forward to having you on future records! Before we end things here, mind giving us a couple of producers that you feel deserve more credit than they are currently exposed to?

92elm: Goldwater, zotti, BLANDA, Moods and xander. all make great music that needs to be heard!
