Knowledge on a NAPKN

We first became enamored with NAPKN about a year ago when Million dropped. This Australian producer has since refined his sound to be a progression of smooth indulgence, without the added guilt. Be sure to grab a link to his track, AVALON at the end of the interview.

Phuture: Firstly, besides this interview, what are you doing at this very moment?

NAPKN: Eating a plate of mini burritos, smokin’ a bowl, watching Independence Day

Phuture: With your release of Wip on Soundcloud, you promised us an EP. Can you tell me more about that?

NAPKN: Haha, I did promise didn’t I. Well I haven’t released anything in 2 months so I was feeling an EP was imminent. I have 3 tracks under construction at the moment and should release them within the month

Phuture: What song has been following you around lately?

NAPKN: Dunk by Swindail, straight fire…

Phuture: You are told you have 7 days to live. There is a 50/50 chance that you could survive but it would require you to spend the next 7 days in a dark room. Do you take your chances and spend what could be your last week in a dark room or do you spend the week living your life to the fullest?

NAPKN: I guess being human I would take the dark room knowing I had a chance at survival, in all honesty. But who knows without the experience

Phuture: Tell me a secret.

NAPKN: I once had a spiritual conversation about innovation with a laundry door where lost knowledge was passed between us

Phuture: Where do you see yourself in a year?

NAPKN: Waving to a gold coin, falling from a hallucination on a pogo wearing a cat-lamp fedora

Phuture: You suffered from temporary amnesia and have no recollection of anything that occurred over the last 5 years. The essence of you and your abilities is still in tact but your memory of the last 5 years is completely blank. What are the key events that someone would need to remind you of in order for you to understand how you’ve evolved in the last 5 years?

NAPKN: I think it would be more a matter of showing me my progression. Sit me down, pass me a blunt, beer and some booty. Play me all my tracks, show me all my projects and roll with that till something sparks

Phuture: What’s the best thing since sliced bread?

NAPKN: Camembert
