Phuture: Welcome aboard Phuture, Triv [and Slowpoke, who couldn’t make it]. It’s great to have you both on here! Let’s jump straight into some juicy questions. Tell the world a bit about yourself and what you had for breakfast.
Triv: Yo! My name is Nick and I’m from the Milwaukee area! I’ve been making music on ableton for a few years. I had a banana and mad coffee for breakfast.

Phuture: noh life! We’ve been following ya’ll loosely for a couple years, but have dug deeper since hearing more about it from our close friends Zero Tep & Noer the Boy. How long have you both been with noh life, and what’s been going on there lately?
Triv: Noh Life is family! Kaelin and Noah are doing some awesome things but so is everyone else in the group. It’s a real tight knit group of friends (nearly all of us are in the Milwaukee area) and everyone is always on some cool shit. I’ve been with the group for around 2 years. We have a monthly slot on 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, as well as a monthly residency at Company Brewing. The residency is called Tons of Friends, where we showcase a lot of great talent from around the city.

Phuture: Let’s talk about ‘Steez’ for a moment. Take us through a walk of the collaboration process & inspirations behind this piece here.
Triv: Man this was a fun track to make! Mr. Slowpapa here just sent me over a lil project file filled with the synth sounds you hear in the track and a few samples. I stayed up all night turning it into a track. We’ve always worked well together and this dude is my favorite to make music with for sure.

Phuture: If you were a fruit, what fruit would you be? What animal? What color?
Triv: Blueberry, shark, blue!

Phuture: How did you find Phuture Collective? How long have you been following us?
Triv: I’ve been following you guys for a couple years. Just found some of the early compilations on soundcloud awhile back and always enjoyed the music. It’s great to be a part of one of these compilations!

Phuture: What do your setup look like & how many hours a week do you spend producing? What role does music play in your live?
Triv: I use ableton live 9. For live setups I use an mpd32 and a lunchpad with ableton. For production I mostly just arrange with the keyboard and trackpad. I don’t spend a crazy amount of time producing but when I do sit down to make music, I try to make it count and bust out a full song. My production sessions often go late into the night. Music plays a huge role in my life. It always lifts me up when I’m feelin’ down 🙂
