Chaos w/ chromonicci.

Interview curated by Michael of the Phuture Collective team.

Phuture: Woah, it’s already our third interview together – doesn’t it seems like just yesterday we were discording, talking about your first one? My how time flies! We’ve sure got lots to show for it though, especially in the world of music.

Let’s jump right in – what did you have for breakfast and what have you been up-to this Summer?

chromonicci: I had an apple and some chocolate milk. This summer I have been working a summer internship and trying to make as much music as possible!

Phuture: chaos is chaotic! When you sent this, I (Michael) seriously had to play it again 5 times in a row. What inspirations went behind this track? Where were you at in life for you to put this type of emotion into sound?

chromonicciHmm, honestly I was going through a tough time emotionally, and was looking for someway to express all the emotions I was feeling. I felt like I got pretty close to making a song that represented the internal struggle I was going through.

Phuture: If your music was a candy, what kind of candy could it be?

chromonicci.: It would be Skittles!

___________________________

Phuture: Do you feel you’ve honed in on the style of music you want to create? What would you call your styles if you had to label them?

chromonicci.: I’d say so! My main goal with music is to make invoke emotion while also incorporating a bouncy vibe. I’d like to think that my style is bouncy, pretty, and fun.

Phuture: Growing up in your teenage years, what music did you find yourself listening to? Does it play a role in your music today?

chromonicci.I honestly listened to a bit of everything. R&B, Alternative Rock, Bossa Nova, Classical, Hip Hop, Rap, Hardstyle, House etc. I feel like this wild combination of music really didn’t funnel me into a specific genre, rather it kinda gave me a shallow knowledge of a lot of music and piqued my interest into musicality in general.

___________________________

Phuture: What role does music play in your local community? What about the world as a whole?

chromonicci.: In my community it’s more or less background music and enjoyed either in leisure, workouts, or drives home. In the world… HMM. I feel like that answer is ever-changing. Music’s role is expanding and contracting all over the world.

___________________________

Phuture: Pudding, Pie, or Ice Cream? What flavor?

chromonicci.: Ice cream for suree! Mint Chocolate Chip <3

Phuture: Give us 3 artists who the reader NEEDS to check out right after this!

chromonicci.: Readers! Go and check out, SayAri, Summet, and Floret Loret. They are all amazing and making moves!
