It’s a warm moment when we can welcome aboard a new artist to Phuture. When we got this track in our issue nine submission box, we knew it would be a beautiful fit for the TRANQUILITY segment of issue nine. One of the best parts with every accepted submission, is that we get a chance to interview the artist – which you can read below 🙂
Interview curated by Michael of the Phuture Collective team.
Phuture Collective : Hey Launch Kontrol! Thank you for joining us on TRANQUILITY! Your sound is definitely diverse, something that comes across in Take You. Can you tell us a little more about how you would define your sound.
Launch Kontrol: I try to make my music as timeless as possible, I don’t have a favorite genre as i can switch to heavy metal to hip hop/r&b
Phuture Collective: You’ve been producing for quite some years now. What have you learned along the way that has proven indispensable in how you’ve developed as an artist?
Launch Kontrol: You have to be yourself no matter what and not get caught up at what everyone is making. No one is going to remember you sounding like the Chainsmokers or Marshmello.
Phuture Collective: If tranquility were a place, what would it look like and where would you feature in this place?
Launch Kontrol: It would look like Disney World on shrooms, and all they play is bsd.u, IHF, and Kid Cudi around the park.
Phuture Collective: What is the one thing you cannot live without? Why?
Launch Kontrol: Cranberry Juice and Lemonade, I need them joints to live.
Phuture Collective: Which artist/s would you like to collaborate with right now?
Launch Kontrol: Oshi, Ekali, Flying Lotus and I need one with Ski Mask The Slump God before i die. But ultimately TRAVIS SCOTT PLEASE!
Phuture Collective: Do you enjoy eating? Can you describe the feeling/s you get when you eat your favorite food?
Launch Kontrol: It’s like when you bust a nut, but less messier and more civilized lol.
Phuture Collective: Where do you see your music going over the next 2 years?
Launch Kontrol: I hope im doing more shows and gaining more support in 2 years, I honestly can’t tell. We shall see what’s in store.
