Interview with M i s t e r / L :
Question: What was the last track or album that you listened to?
Answer: No Permission – Wiz Khalifa
Question: Summing up 2015, in a musical nutshell what did music do for you and where did it take you?
Answer: This last year I’ve seen the biggest progression in my music from both a skill and feedback standpoint, so really this year was green light for me. Physically music hasn’t taken me anywhere yet but it has opened my mind up to consider so many more things, respect many more people and work a lot harder in all aspects of life.
Question: What foods have been on your palette lately?
Answer: Lo mein.
Question: How would you describe your sound to someone with ears? Without ears?
Answer: With, I’d say my sound is based on bass and different feelings and flow. Without, I’d say it’s either emotive or just makes you feel cool. Or like feeling tits cause that’s kinda both of those things.
Question: Any projects coming up that we should know of?
Answer: I’m just going to be dropping singles every month, originals and edits, till I have some real time to sit down for a multi-track project.
Question: What are your goals, musically, for 2016?
Answer: I just want to release as much as I can, record mixes and hopefully DJ a show/party/event this year.
Question: Where is your most favorite place on Earth?
Answer: New York. A couple certain places here.
Question: How does LOVE have an impact in your daily life? What about your music?
Answer: I feel like I never really think of love as a whole on a daily basis. Everyday I think of the small things that make up love, the little things that you do for only your loved ones, and everyday I try to do those things for those people. Love will always drive my music because my ultimate goal is to spread positivity to as many people as possible.
Question from Artist: Have you ever thought of expanding your collective’s array in any way? Such as guest mixes or live events etc.
Answer from phuture: We’ve started building our forum once more, which will help expand phuture collective, as well as helped promote for our showcase in Seattle, with Fish Tank Friends, last December. This year we have goals to put on 4-8 shows by the end of the year, so we have more experience for what 2017 has in store for us. We’ll be working on a cypher with Growllective, and a remix contest with Crown Collective in the upcoming months.
Question: Give us five ideas of themes for issue six!
Answer: Themes – CHILLS, SWEATPANTS, SHOCK, OBSERVE, SECRET
Question: Name five artists for the listeners and readers to check out after they’ve heard this track.
Answer: Hm some people that I vibe with are my good friend breath, he’s really unique, also my homie Animals In The Room has a great unique sound too, I’ve recently fallen in love with all of WEVLTH‘s work, i’m obsessed with S I L K R O A D A S S A S S I N S , and finally I just think Jamal Woon from over the water holds it down and pours everything into his music and that can be rare these days.
