no longer a hermit after this interview

 Listen/Download

Do you remember hermit from issue six | LEMONGRASS? How could you forget! Since that release we’ve had the pleasure of being able to work together closer than ever. You’ll see his ideas directly implemented into phuture collective if you look around – and it will be much more evident in  2017 when we unveil something BIG! In the present moment you can read more about this hermit by exploring our interview with him here.

Interview curated by Michael of the phuture team.

Phuture: It’s so great to have you on board phuture with your second release hermit! How have the vibrations been flowing since we last exchanged words?

hermit: Vibrations are really flowing well, lots of ups and downs but the ups are continuously getting higher. I’m learning to be blatantly honest with myself and others and its a much better way to live.

Phuture: SCENARIO: You released a mixtape that was SO FIRE you got punished by death. You get to pick a final meal. What is it?

hermit: Good question! Definitely a huge boat full of tempura sushi, with spicy mayo and a side of yummy yummy sauce.

Phuture: What’s your favorite memory involving a single SUNSET?

hermit: Drinking gas station wine on the beach with my three closest friends at the time, watching the sky turn the most gorgeous color of pink. It was a beautiful day/night.

Phuture: When you were a teenager – what kind of music did you listen to? What about now ?

hermit: I listened to a LOT of dubstep. I really wanted to blow out my eardrums I guess (and I kinda did…). My favorite though was liquid stuff, the really melodic yet grimy sounding bass. I still would like to bring some of that influence into my music, I just need to learn how to fit grimy bass in with my melodies.

Phuture: What’s the strangest fact you know?

hermit: We are all living a lie. Corporations rule everything we touch, every facet of our lives, and we are voluntarily their slaves. We are shown images that inspire us only enough to climb their imaginary ladder of which there is no real comfort at the top. We suffer as their livestock, a part of their giant people-farm, made to power the elite. Also, female kangaroos have three vaginas. Yep.

Phuture: What struggles did you face in 2016 and how did you move forward?

hermit: HOO boy. Lots of heartbreak, lots of self-loathing, and financial hell. 2016 was rough but has created growth that I’ve never experienced before. I’ve learned so much about myself and about relationships, even though I let it tear me down for most of the year. I’m moving forward now as a much stronger person.

Phuture: What do you want to accomplish in 2017? In our last interview you mentioned more music, live shows, sample packs & tutorials. Are those still in the works?

hermit: Those are definitely all in the works. First I’m working on moving out of my parents house, not entirely my choice but that story is a whole other interview lol. Lots of musical achievements, yes.
