We’ve been holding onto this track for far too long! What originally started out as a track for issue six has made it’s way into it’s destined home on issue eight | HEARTBREAK.
What track are we talking about, and who’s it by?! chldrns, of course – who’s been a part of our community for almost a year now! Having won Rohaan‘s remix competition, and being on our first cypher – the time is Now to give you all an exclusive interview with this emerging artist who’s no stranger to most of phuture.
phuture: Hey there chldrns! Welcome aboard phuture collective <3. So happy you finally have released with us after working together for several months. Tell the world a bit about yourself! chldrns:
chldrns?: hey everyone! i’m a 16 year old mexican boy trying to find my place in the stratosphere. glad to share some stuff with you!
_____________________________________________ phuture: What have you been listening to recently?
chldrns?: lately i’ve been jamming to indie rock (which I hadn’t done in a while). Lots of Post Malone, and tons of hip-hop as well.

phuture: Writer’s block happens to nearly everyone that has ever created art, what are your methods to overcome it?
chldrns?: everyone needs breaks when working on anything. i always try to take breaks from producing, that way my ideas keep flowing and i don’t get stuck trying to force myself into the process. When necessary i even take a about a week without listening to any music at all, and then try and come back to my project to see what i can do.

phuture: What is the last song on your soundcloud feed that truly captivated your attention?
chldrns?: i’d say ‘hold up’ by yugi boi and DIlIP, and any j.robb song really hahah
_____________________________________________
phuture: Why did you get into music in the first place? What birthed your creative ingenuity?
chldrns?: when i was about 8 years old i wanted to be a guitar player like Jimmy Page or Slash, but i was always curious about what djs did and how electronic music came to life. i started djing when i was 12 and producing when i turned 15, it’s been almost two years and a wonderful journey since then :).

phuture: How would you recommend Stella get her groove back?
chldrns?: just go with the flow gurrrrl
_____________________________________________ phuture: What inspired you to create this track? What are your general creative influences?
chldrns?: it was a couple of months ago. i had just gone through a pretty harsh and new experience for me, which i think played a big part in the process. i layed down some ideas and after listening to some Zotti, ‘angles’ came to life. to everyone out there, experiences do influence your sound, try to live as much as possible.

phuture: Give us some shoutouts of artists who deserve more recognition.
