meet : Theevs.

What are you doing at this very moment [besides this interview]?

Drinking a flat white from Starbucks, listening to some tunes on Soundcloud.

What part of the world are you from and what’s the music scene like there?

I am from Los Angeles. The music scene here is awesome. Any type of sound you want to get into really you can find it thriving here. Great place to live for music.

Apples or Oranges?

Oranges, served with a Blue Moon.

What DAW do you use? Favorite plugins?

I use Ableton Live. Fav plugs would be Serum, Sylenth 1, Fab Filter MB.

Why do you produce and what keeps you going?

It brings me happiness. Music is really the only thing that has interested me since a young age. It’s the only way I know how to express myself fully.

Where would you go if you were given an all-expenses-paid trip to anywhere in the world?

Wow that’s a tough one! So many places I want to visit. I guess I’ll go with the first place that came to mind. Spain, Ibiza. The island just seems like such a magical place.

Most memorable moment so far on this musical journey?

Meeting other artists with like minded goals. Just going into a room with someone new, meeting in the middle to create something out of thin air. Nothing like that feeling when that goes right.

Any unique or interesting talents outside of the music industry?

Mario Kart champion.

Who are some up and coming producers that we should check out?

Losi, Taska Black, Hi-fly, Jengi Beats, Auralponic.

What four songs have been the most influential to where you’ve gotten today?

Flume – Sleepless; Dusky – Careless; Justin Martin – Don’t Go; Maxx Baer X KRNE – Cosmic Canyons

What is in store for us to look forward to? An album perhaps?

Yes! A lot of stuff coming. Besides my own personal releases , I have a joint EP with a super talented producer from LA named Hi-Fly. It’s on a Future, Jazz, Soul tip. That will be out early December. I also did some work on Tribes’ upcoming EP. That should be coming out sometime soon. Also working on another project with Steady Rock that concentrates more on the house side of things. A lot to look forward to!
