There is so much excitement riding on Future Island for me, it seems to embody the entire essence of where music is headed with the most beautiful riffs engaged in some sexy sampling. Colorado based but future intended, uBlink brings the love. Grab a link to the track at the end of the interview.
Phuture: Firstly, besides this interview, what are you doing at this very moment?
uBlink: Listening to my roommates watch tv
Phuture: What song has been following you around lately?
uBlink: Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles
Phuture: Your friend loses their job and becomes depressed. In their desperation to gather income and their woes about failing, they decide to give up on their dreams of being a music producer. Do you support them in their decision or do you challenge them to keep trying?
uBlink: I would challenge them to keep trying because you never know how close you actually are. Im sure there have been many times in history where someone gave up right at the precipice of success. I’m sure had they just gone a bit farther maybe they could have changed the world.
Phuture: Tell me a secret.
uBlink: There’s an old hidden doll in my attic that gives off weird vibes
Phuture: What projects do you have coming up in the near future?
uBlink: I plan on doing some metal music with a friend of mine soon and I also wanna build stuff out of pvc pipes
Phuture: You are told you have 7 days to live. There is a 50/50 chance that you could survive but it would require you to spend the next 7 days in a dark room. Do you take your chances and spend what could be your last week in a dark room or do you spend the week living your life to the fullest?
uBlink: Interesting. I feel like I would be lucky enough to live it out, why not take a chance and if I die? Well shit!
Phuture: What’s the best thing since sliced bread?
