Phuture: Hello there tabz & proche.! Mr. proche., we will get to you in a moment but for now we have to talk to tabz as it’s been an extremely long time coming.
tabz!! You’ve been a giant help to Phuture, and have had almost every role possible within our large virtual ecosystem (visual art, label owner, moderator, administrator, promotion, editing, project management & more). It warms us so much to finally be able to release with you so thank you so much for sticking with us as we continue to grow together.
proche. – we’ve had our eyes on you since your collab with Zero Tep, so it’s amazing to be able to welcome you on this platform alongside others who have released with Noh Life (who’s roster is seriously on par with the top)

tabz : Hey there! I’m truly honored and more than thrilled to finally be releasing on the platform! I enjoyed an omelette and a large cup of coffee this morning.
proche. : heyooooo! i feel so blessed to be a part of this issue and i’m so glad i get to work with both tabz and Phuture on this. ? i had some thicc yogurt mixed with berries and a coffee for breakfast!

Phuture: Tell the world a bit about yourself for those unaware! (How long have you been producing, where are you based out of, and why do you make music?)
tabz : I’ve been a musician as long as I can remember.. But the first time I played around with producing computer music was around 6-7 years ago. I’m currently living in Atlanta, Georgia and I make music because I have a deep respect for each style/genre, and all artists that do what they can to change the game for everyone involved. I just love it!
proche. : hello world! my name is adam aka proche., and i make music out of a pretty weird small town in northern BC, Canada. i’ve been making dumb Garageband songs and playing instruments since i was a small boi, but i downloaded FL Studio for the first time about 8 years ago and haven’t been able to stop since. i make music because it’s my favourite thing to do; i love the fact that there’s such a huge community of amazing producers to listen to, work with, and be inspired by!

Phuture: Let’s talk about ‘aurora’ for a moment! What inspirations went into this?
tabz : This song started as a really basic 15 second drum loop with a vocal thrown over top. I sent it over to Adam and after 3+ months of meticulous work and many new versions of the track, we were both more than satisfied with the way it turned out. So really, each new version inspired future updates! I’m particularly satisfied considering I did not have any plans on finishing that original 15 second loop! God bless Adam for inspiring me beyond belief.
proche. : ohhhhhh david (tabz) is the MAN when it comes to inspiration. this guy works on new levels, every time he sent me back a new version of the song i found myself in awe and way too excited to get back to work on it. looking back on the first couple versions of this song, it’s crazy to see how much we put in to this and how much we inspired each other to keep pushing and make this song as good as it could be. thank you tabz!

Phuture: If ‘aurora’ was a four course meal, take us through the courses!
tabz : First course: Tortilla chips, salsa and fresh guacamole.
Second course: Spicy jalapeno poppers.
Third course: Flaming steak fajitas.
Dessert: Strawberry cheesecake. (Not Mexican, but DAMN good).
proche. : first course: olive garden breadsticks and bruschetta
second course: GHOST PEPPER HOT WINGS & ASSORTED VEGGIES (EATING IN ALL CAPS)
third course: beef gyros with pita & tzatziki
dessert: crème brûlée babyyyy we’re all over the board

Phuture: How does one find inspiration when the world is dark? When the world is light, what especially inspires you?
tabz : I find inspiration in the little things. A beautiful day, my lovely friends/family, and different forms of media. I also look at music as a way to escape both the mundane and stressful aspects of existence. Without music, my world would be bleak.
proche. : i think inspiration comes with what you do every day, even if you don’t do anything super notable. like when you’re not necessarily having a great time with life, writing sad music is an awesome way to help get yourself through it. my all time favourite way to get inspiration though is to listen to producers i admire, because in my opinion, the music you listen to is going to inspire the music you make more than anything else.

Phuture: What are your goals for the next 6 months? What about the next two years?
tabz : 6 months: Revolutionize my sound in many different ways, write music that blends multitudes of styles cohesively, write at least one track with an artist that truly inspires me, attend plenty more live shows and meet like-minded people, be happy!
2 years: Acquire my associates degree, look into moving in with other musicians/friends, develop a stronger musical following, start playing out mid-sized/larger venues, be a good person, have a major role in getting Phuture Collective to the forefront of the electronic music scene!
proche. : in the next 6 months: i want to be releasing at least 1 track every two weeks, and have an album released as well! it’s gonna be a busy half year.
In the next 2 years: make INSANE amounts of music. i would ideally like to fill up a couple hard drives. i also want to go to uni, and my ultimate goal is to play a set at Shambhala Music Festival. last but not least i’d like to help my friends and i move out of this freezing lil oil town!

Phuture: If both of you could eat one vegetable for the rest of your life, which vegetable would that be?
tabz : Is filet mignon a vegetable? No? Ok… potatoes. There are so many ways to prepare potatoes that it would take longer to get sick of.
proche. : damn potatoes is a pretty good answer… i honestly wanna say bell peppers, they’re so tasty and they almost quench your thirst while you eat them. plus they go great with so many foods!

tabz : I love you, Phuture Collective, and this wonderful community we’ve got. I couldn’t imagine another group of musicians to be so heavily involved with, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store! Thank you for having me, and thanks a ton to every listener. You’re the reason I’m able to do this whole music thing, and that makes me happier than anything else could. Thanks to proche. proche. : i want to say thank you to Phuture as well, you guys have been killing it for years now. ever since i first saw the collective pop up on my feed with the awesome cinema 4d album art and wicked vibes, i figured it was gonna turn into something wild. and by golly has it ever! it’s so cool to see what you guys have done with this space, and i can’t wait to watch it grow even more. thank you guys so much for inspiring producers like me and listeners alike. huge thank you to my boi tabz, please go listen to him cause this guy has one of the coolest brains around and his style is off the fricken wall! absolute nutter! lastly, big thank you to YOU for listening to our song and reading our words, i love you, you’re a great person and i really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to check our stuff out. keep up the great work, kiddo! <3
