A walk in the Woods [ or perhaps Šuma ]

Listening to Cold Heart truly is like taking a journey through the forest, appropriating the naturalist inspiration for Oregon-native, Woods, now Šuma. Grab a link to the track at the end of the interview.

Phuture: Firstly, besides this interview, what are you doing at this very moment?

Woods: Well it’s 4 in the morning right now and I am laying in bed eating a grilled cheese (love grilled cheese)

Phuture: What song has been following you around lately?

Woods: Been super into the Another One album by Mac Demarco right now

Phuture: You are given the object of your desire (money, fame, glory, happiness). The catch is that once you accept it, you can never get rid of it and you will never again desire anything else. So basically, you will be content for the rest of your life, having obtained the one (and now only) thing you wanted. Do you accept the offer and live in contentment with your greatest desire or do you reject it and continue to strive in uncertainty but with other possibility?

Woods: All I care for is to be able to support myself from making music, don’t really care for the fame and what not, so if I could make enough money to live by throwing shows right now, hell yeah I would take that

Phuture: Tell me a secret

Woods: I’m an alien

Phuture: What projects do you have coming up in the near future?

Woods: Not super sure, I have a shit load of unfinished beats, but I am really bad at finishing beats so we’ll see which ones I finish before I get sick of them

Phuture: You inherit an estate worth $100 million which is comprised mostly of an old, large house surrounded by acreage. The house is decorated with lots of antiques. The stipulation of the inheritance is as follows: You either have to accept it as is or sell it as is. If you choose to sell, you can only buy 1 thing with the money. Do you keep the house or do you keep the money? What do you do with the house/money?

Woods: Sell the house, buy a space shuttle, fly myself into a wormhole and peace outta the solar system

Phuture: What’s the best thing since sliced bread?

Woods: Grilled cheese
