Phuture: Well look who it is! Fidus Achates is BACK yet again and this time they brought another friend :). Their friend today is lil kimmy b who’s a new cat on the block you’ll get to meet momentarily.

We’re gonna get right into the thicc of thangs – what did each of you have for breakfast this morning?

Fidus Achates:  I had a left over empanada from last night.

lil kimmy b: Shcrumbled egg and toast, each submerged in pesto.

Phuture: How has the last year been for each of you? Give us the scoop in regards to your creative / spiritual / motivational headspace these days.

Fidus Achates:  It’s hard to say really. The last year has gone by so fast and yet so slow. Everything has felt like a contradiction. Life was on pause, but there really is no such thing. That is something that has really made it feel like time has escaped me. I lost a lot of people close to me, but have gained so many new friends and family in that same time frame. As far as creativity goes it’s somewhat the same story. I can never tell if I’m making a lot of progress or if I’m in a rut. Life is full of ups and downs in every aspect, all we can really do is ride it out and make the best of it.

lil kimmy b: Returning to and confronting distorted perceptions and slowly repairing.

Phuture: Can we talk about ‘Fool’s Paradise’ for a moment? Take us through the production / creation of this track. What were you feeling at the time and what do you hope the listener takes away from this piece?

Fidus Achates:  To me, ‘Fool’s Paradise” is a blend of so many emotions. It perfectly sums up the contradictions of life in the balance of reality and our idea of reality.

lil kimmy b:  There was a lot of confusion and hopelessness. Hope they feel less alone when they listen, a little safer, however that looks like for them.

Phuture: Hot or Cold? 6 or 7? East or West? Weed or Alcohol? Fast or Slow?

Fidus Achates: One doesn’t feel as good if you haven’t experienced the other. 7. I’ve never been west but I would like to visit. I’m probably smoking right now and I can’t remember the last time I had a drink so I think that answers that question. A nice combination of both at the same time.

lil kimmy b: Somewhat prefer cold over heat. Definitely 7. West. No alcohol please, you’ll get sob snot on you. Usually pretty slow now, went fast for too long.

Phuture: If you had an unlimited lump sum of money to do one action to change the world / humanity for the better (or worse) what would that be?

Fidus Achates: I might lose my mind thinking about this question forever. There is way too much to be done to only pick one answer.

lil kimmy b: Hire somebody who’s job it is to do good with it, give it to them, tell them never to contact me, forget it ever happened, get back to living.

______________________________________________________

Phuture: I think it’s safe to say that we as a species do not empathize enough with each other – what do you suggest for us to promote empathy in the world?

Fidus Achates: Everytime I think I have the answer to this question, it seems to fail me.

lil kimmy b: Pay attention. Explore. Ask questions.

Phuture: Ask us a question!

Fidus Achates:  What is one interest you had when you were younger that you might be doing if you weren’t doing what you do now?

lil kimmy b: Favourite waveshape?

Phuture:  @ Fidus – I was big into bowling, acting and cooking. I still cook a lot but thought for a bit i might do that professionally… and fall back on an acting career :p. More than anything though since i was 10 years old I was always forming IRL clubs then at 15 began forming online communities… So Phuture / Audius is a perfect fit for me since I can cultivate online communities AND bring them into the real world 🙂

Phuture: @ lil kimmy – sineeeeeeeeee go hummmmmmmm

Phuture: What does the next year look like for ya? Any album / shows / streams / travel plans being put together?

Fidus Achates: I do have an album coming in the near uhh phuture =P that is something I have been working on for a few years. It is very close to my heart and I don’t want to release it until I’m personally satisfied with it. I haven’t really thought about any shows or streams but traveling would be nice.

lil kimmy b: Taking proper time and not stressing.
